In Kenya, LEWA’S NEW RECOGNITION FROM UNESCO

In May, UNESCO’s Intergovernmental Man and Biosphere (MAB) Programme extended the Mount Kenya Biosphere Reserve to include Lewa Wildlife Conservancy and Ngare Ndare Forest, which neighbours the Conservancy. MAB’s goal is to use science to convey the importance of the relationship between people and their environments. Lewa was previously recognised by UNESCO in 2013 with World Heritage Site status.
